Dental assistants are multi-skilled health professionals who perform a variety of clinical, laboratory, and administrative duties in dental offices and other dentistry settings. They may provide patient care and chair-side support as dentists complete exams and procedures, recordkeeping, scheduling appointments, sterilizing equipment, and much more.

What does a dental assistant do?

Students who enroll in MDT Institutes Dental Assisting program may complete the curriculum including classes, labs, and externship experiences in as little as 9 months.

How long does it take to become a dental assistant?

No prerequisites required! As long as you have a high school diploma or GED then you are qualified to start the admissions process. Official transcripts are also acceptable. Proof of education will be required.

Are there any prerequisites and what are the admission requirements?

Financial Aid is available for those who qualify. Once you complete your financial aid appointment and FAFSA you will be informed how much aid you can qualify for.

Is there financial aid available? How much can I qualify for?

All courses are approved for blended delivery. This includes online live sessions, asynchronous sessions, in person campus sessions, and externship components. All in person campus and on site externship sessions are located in Georgia. Blended education courses are delivered through the MDT learning management system. Personal desktop or laptop computer with internet access is required.
